will learn effective ways to cope and restore balance in your life, build on your emotional strengths, and create new ways of relating to yourself, others, and to the problems you bring to therapy. During our time together I’ll strive to help you feel truly understood in a non-judgmental, warm and trusting atmosphere. Together, we will create a solid support system that might include your medical providers, family or friends.

You can expect me to pay attention to the strengths and challenges related to all of the aspects of your life including (but not limited to) your emotions, physiology, culture, gender and sexual orientation with an eye toward how each may play a role in what you bring to therapy.

I will use several methods and theories to help you. This might include Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory and techniques, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Interpersonal/humanistic, Emotion Focused Theory, Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion. Psychologists and researchers that most inform my current work include Deb Dana LCSW; Diane Poole Heller, PhD; Richard Schwartz, PhD; Tara Brach, PhD; Jack Kornfield, PhD; Stephen Porges, PhD; Carl Rogers, PhD; Sue Johnson, PhD; Brene Brown, PhD, LMSW; Kristen Neff, PhD; Chris Germer, PhD; Dan Siegel, MD; and Resmaa Menakem, MSW, LICSW, SEP.
