Group Therapy

Coping with Cancer for Women (ages 25-45)
This therapy group explores topics such as (but not limited to): talking to children about cancer, relationship concerns during the cancer experience, body image and sexual concerns, and juggling career, family, and cancer treatment. You will explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors related to topics in a non-judgmental, warm, and supportive atmosphere. As group leader, I’ll work to help you improve coping, reduce stress, and establish supportive connections.

Coping With Change and Life Transitions
Life transitions can be bumpy. There is no rulebook to help you cope. We’ll talk about transitions and changes such as:

  • Divorce or separation
  • Children gone off to college and you’re now an empty nester
  • Starting a new job, changing careers, or having experienced a recent loss of employment.
  • Having a medical condition or injury that has changed your life

My goal is to help you feel less anxious about change, learn new ways to manage your life and turn upheaval into growth.

A Word on Groups:

An alternative to individual therapy, groups can be very powerful therapeutic experiences. A natural bonding among group members often occurs, which can help you to feel less isolated. Sometimes groups have a way of moving you out of being stuck more quickly compared to individual therapy as there are multiple people providing you feedback.
